A weekend getaway, Baltimore

Sometimes a simple getaway is all we need to recharge our bodies. That’s exactly what I needed this past weekend, so we grabbed an overnight bag and headed down to Baltimore, a city we visit very frequently for its abundance of crab and great eats. We usually drive into Baltimore on Saturday night and begin at LP Steamers, a diamond in the ruff place, but a place that hands down serves the best steamed crab. The next morning continues with a visit to another local hotspot for breakfast, called Mama’s on the Half Shell. It’s always packed, but worth every moment of waiting. Once you taste the Grand Marnier french toast once you’ll never want to have it any other way. It’s out of this world amazing. Out visit never ends without another round at LP Steamers.

Usually we leave Briana with her grandparents and visit a few local pubs at Federal Hill, however this time we brought her with us and visited the National Aquarium.

And it’s amazing Grand Marnier French Toast. I can never eat all three. I have got to figure out how to make it at home.

We absolutely love having a table full of Old Bay Steamed Crab and an ice cold beer at LP Steamers.

Briana had a fun time at the aquarium with the fish and the dolphins, but was freaked out by the sharks.

If you ever do visit Baltimore I strongly suggest stopping at LP Steamers and Mama’s on the Half Shell. You won’t regret it.
