Today I do not have a recipe to share with you but instead some pictures from our apple picking trip. I anxiously await this time of the year, I feel as I am a kid again. For me it signifies the beginning of the holiday season and all the beauty that come with it. The leaves are starting to slowly turn and the decorations pop up all over the place. I find joy in driving past houses and seeing colorful mums and pumpkins brighten the front yards. We decorated our own front lawn as well. How cute is our scarecrow family?

If anyone has a suggestion on how to keep my Hibiscus tree from dying in NJ during the winter I would greatly appreciate it.
Briana is finally starting to understand and enjoy these activities and this year she was just above herself. My favorite was when she asked Kurt to put her on his shoulders so she can pick an apple of the top of the tree and this picture summarizes it all. Just look at Kurt’s face. Priceless.

All the apples on the bottom of the trees weren’t enough. She wanted the ones of the top.

These gourds were so interesting. The one on the right looks as if it was painted on.
On the way back we stopped at a country store to get some other things and salivate over the delicious aroma of apple and pumpkin pies. Briana picked out another pumpkin.

And I was fascinated bu some really strange ones.

I absolutely love days like this one. Time spend with my family and creating memories are what I live for. Now I have to bake some apple pies.
