I am not sure who’s quote it is, but reading it got me thinking.
Gratitude. What does it mean to you? How do you practice gratitude?
Working with people I often face a variety of personalities and moods. The ones that stand out to me the most are the always grateful and genuinely nice people. What’s their secret? I began to think about my own state of being, an internal session of self realization. Am I thankful because I’m happy… Or am I happy because I’m thankful…
The answer to the above questions is simple, take the time to notice and appreciate what you already have. Don’t spend your time wishing for what you don’t.
It’s not the milestone achievements that bring me happiness, although at that moment it might seem that way. It’s the little things like the warmth of the sunlight through my window, Sunday mornings with my family, kisses from my daughter, Kurt holding my hand and even a successful shot of a recipe for the blog. These are the things that make me grateful to live the life I have and to have the power to understand that life really is good.
I love capturing these moments with my phone and I feel like sharing them with you. My husband will be the first one to tell you, I have too many photos on my iPhone. My storage is almost full but deleting them is not something that can be done easily. Call me a picture hoarder. These precious moments are what makes me thankful for what I have. Looking at them simply makes me realize that I am one lucky bee.
Thanks for reading my blog. 🙂
