Happy Valentine’s Day.
I have a confession to make – I am a hopeless romantic.
I love candlelight dinners, walks on the beach and romantic movies. Flowers, good chocolate and small gestures mean more than extravagant gifts. I am a sucker for a sweet card, adore little getaways with Hubby and of course I love Valentine’s day. Thankfully I married a man who knows how to please my romantic side. ☺
What I don’t like is Valentine’s Day falling on a Thursday. Kurt works late on Thursdays, so our romantic dinner has to wait till Saturday. However, I am lucky enough to have a four foot tall, beautiful, curly headed Valentine named Briana. You know that saying “Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”? Well that is the case for us. Briana is just like me. She loves being mushy and cute. She’s been waiting for VDay ever since every store we frequent filled their shelves with pink and red stuffed animals and other crap.
The two of us were busy making kid approved treats that adults can enjoy as well. Guess what we made? Heart shaped pink rice crispy treats and chocolate covered strawberries. We also enjoyed some lighter cake balls.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 6 cups rice kris pies cereal
- 3 tbsp butter or margarine
- 3 drops red food dye
- In a large saucepan melt butter over low heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until melted
- Add cereal and stir well until coated.
- Using wax paper evenly press into 13×9 pan coated with cooking spray.
- Cool, cut into heart shape pieces
