Do you know what happens when children are away?
Parents play. 🙂
Kurt and I went out a lot last week mostly because Briana was away on a beach vacation with her grandparents. We took advantage of this opportunity and lived it up a little.
After our trip to Baltimore and Washington DC our shellfish cravings continued, so late on Thursday night we found ourselves at Joe’s Crab Shack.
How late you might ask? 10:30pm to be exact.
What do you mean you don’t go to Joe’s Crab Shack at 10:30 at night? Apparently that’s the best time, because we weren’t the only crazies eating that late.
I had a Sam Adams Steampot and a Coronita Margarita. Kurt had the Joe’s Classic Steampot.
Both equally delicious, super filling and way more food than either one of us needed.
Saturday night was a much needed date night. 🙂
We headed out to a restaurant in Asbury Park called Fish. The restaurant is set up in an old bank location with the huge vault doors still in place. The vault room has been converted to a private party section and the teller line is now the bar area. The seafood is fantastic and the food is delicious. Last time we visited the service was exceptional, I cannot say the same for this time but we still had a fantastic time.
We started with a few cocktails at the bar. I had a yummy cocktail made with simple honey syrup, muddled jalapeno and tequila.
Then we shared a dozen oysters.
For my entrée I had Scallops and Kurt had Cioppino.
The food was really good! I was enjoying myself too much and forgot to take the pictures of my food, so I found them on the website for the restaurant.
I am salivating as I’m writing this post. Wish I can have it again.
Overall it was a great week filled with delicious food. For now I am back to healthy eating, my countdown to vacation and training for my 5K.
